Laser Skin Tightening Treatments and Thermage®

At the Gateway Aesthetic Institute and Laser Center we offer both laser and radio-frequency treatements to tighten and rejuvenate skin. Both offers a safe method of mild to moderate skin tightening without down time.

Skin tightening treatment should not be confused with wrinkle treatment. Skin tightening is needed when areas of the skin sag or droop. (For general wrinkle treatment, please see Microdermabrasion, Chemical Peels, Laser Peels, and Light & Laser Facials.)

The best individual treatment for skin tightening will depend on several factors including your skin's laxity, pigment, sun exposure, and tone.

We’ve included information on our two skin tightening treatments below but encourage you to schedule a free consultation with one of our skilled providers to determine which treatment is best suited for your particular skin.

Laser Skin Tightening

GentleYAG MovieLaser Skin Tightening uses long pulsed laser energy to effectively tighten the skin. The laser energy penetrates into the dermis layer of the skin to provide GentleYag Laser Industry Reviewforcollagen regeneration without downtime or the risk of serious side effects. Patients often prefer Laser Skin Tightening because as it tightens the skin, it decreases fine lines, provides a smoother texture, and decreases pore size.

With Laser Skin Tightening, a series of five treatments approximately a month apart are recommended for optimum results. Maximum results are seen about 90 days after the last treatment.

Thermage (ThermaCool) Skin Tightening

Thermage MovieAn alternative to Laser Skin Tightening, a process that uses laser energy, is the Thermage system (also called ThermaCool), a system that Skin Tightening Fact Sheetuses radio waves to treat the under layers of the skin.

While most patients select Laser Skin Tightening using the GentleYAG Laser as their option of choice, we offer both treatments to suite all individual needs.

Side effects with Thermage are considered mild and may include redness, swelling, blisters, bumps and in very rare instances, surface irregularities.
